There’s something supremely freeing about being able to be ‘you’ when tackling scripts. Our actors will get to delve into that first hand during the 8 weeks.

Arka Das and Rohan Nichol are sharing our next 8-week term! This is an incredible opportunity for actors to be coached by current, working industry pros. They know the business, they're in the lion's den with you.

This class will delve into scene work in all its forms with the promise that each actor will get up and act in each class.

✅ Arka will take you through the art of taking direction and how to incorporate notes into your already-built work. Learn how to stay out of your head by taking the notes as inspiration and building upon it. Sometimes direction can make an actor feel like they have to do something, where Arka will help you not be owned by the note, but rather use it to discover the character.

✅ Rohan will take you through the organic development of a scene so you don’t feel like you’re in an audition building a model plane! Acting is about instincts and creation. Actors can feel like slaves to a scene, trying to get it right. Rohan will take actors through fluid acting, and how to discover moments and true freedom in your work.

A little about Ria 🙂
“I’m finishing up on a feature film, based on the series “How to Talk To Australians” which the incredible @chumehelepola (SAC Founder) was originally in and is now an executive producer. I also started this year by popping my stand-up cherry! And currently teaching yoga too, finding that zen when life as an actor becomes...well, if you know you know!

I recently did a commercial for Libra which was very close to my heart. Not only did they cast a brown girl, but coming from a South Asian culture this is a taboo topic. Period empowerment is very important to me. So much so that I’m working on a period web series, there is a fairy involved!”

Melbourne represents true cultural diversity with AUSTRALIAN actors descending from India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Russia, New York, Turkey, Persia, Lebanon and Singapore present.

This was a rare Australian acting class that represented cultural diversity, a true modern Australia.

No matter how we look, we are all Australian and our television shows should depict that.
