SAC Online class for Perth Actors

Covid-19 has kept us in our homes so SAC is offering Perth Actors an online acting class to keep your acting muscles flexed. It’s time to get that camera out!

While you’re stuck at home it doesn’t mean you can’t work on your acting. SAC has been running super successful online acting classes since the covid-19 lockdown. We currently have 3 online classes in Sydney per week and 1 in LA. We are now offering Perth actors a chance to work with the SAC coaches and receive some of the best training in Australia.

The Perth class will be taken by the amazing Socratis Otto. Socratis is not only one of Australia’s most impressive and acclaimed actors he is also one of Australia’s finest acting coaches. Sox is currently teaching the SAC advanced actors online class with includes actors from shows such as STATELESS, MR INBETWEEN, ON THE ROPES and many more. We currently have numerous WAAPA 3rd year graduates working with Socratis on further developing their screen skills. Also Socratis has just directed a film in Perth starring Clare Vanderboom and Heather Mitchell called RAINDANCE.

SAC will be offering a 4 week, online class.

YOU WILL BE ACTING EACH WEEK. THIS IS NOT A WEB CLASS THAT YOU JUST WATCH. YOU WILL BE ACTING PRIOR TO CLASS AS YOU SELF TAPE A SCENE AND ONCE YOU ARE IN THE CLASS, YOU WILL BE ACTING AGAIN, NUMEROUS TIMES.

SAC online classes are super hands on and all actors will be acting in class. SAC maintains a super high standard with our classes and we have tailored the online classes to challenge our actors. To push them to their acting limits and to make sure our actors are being stretched to their limits. This Perth online class is no different. This will be a challenging class. I hope you’re ready.

How does it work?

Socratis will send each each a scene prior to class. Each actor will tape their scene and upload to a private Facebook group 24hours prior to class. Socratis will then offer details notes via email to each actor on their uploaded tape.

The online class will be held via ZOOM. At the moment that class will be MONDAY nights 6pm Perth time. The Zoom class will go for 3 hours.

In the zoom class, each actor will begin working on their scene having mulled over the notes. Socratis will offer further notes based on each Zoom take. The actor will keep redoing the scene with Socratis’s notes and guidance. One of the other actors will read the scene for the actor.

All scenes will be recorded via Zoom and available for actors at the end of class.

The class will be capped at 10 actors.

Class begins Monday 20th April and runs from 6pm to 9pm Perth time. The first scene will be sent 15th April.

We understand that Covid-19 has severely affected incomes. SAC wants to do our best to offer prices that reflect this situation. As such this course is only $200 for the 4 week course.

This is an unprecedented time and as such SAC wants to do everything we can to help actors active, inspired and working on the professional development. Our online classes are just as challenging and rewarding as our in the room classes.
