Why SAC?
SAC began as a rebellion 10 years ago, when we decided that non-beginner actors needed a place to train. An acting fight club. A place for actors to make mistakes, try out new things and just get up and jam. It was inspired by classes that Chum attended, run by working actors in their house. As a non-theatre school trained actor, Chum learned from these “garage” classes run by successful actors.
At Sydney Actors Collective, we don’t just teach acting—we redefine it.
Our motto is simple: fail gloriously. In an industry obsessed with perfection, we embrace the raw, the real, and the fearless. Great actors don’t play it safe. They push limits, take risks, break the rules and yes—fail. Because within failure lies the breakthrough. We’re not here for the outdated, trauma-ridden acting myths. Acting doesn’t have to be painful to be powerful. It should be
bold, electrifying, and endlessly fun.
Our classes are built to challenge, support, and ignite creativity, so you leave buzzing—whether you nailed the scene or let it crash spectacularly.
At SAC, we ask one thing: Was it fun? Because when you’re enjoying the process, you’re open, adaptable, and ready to make bold choices. That’s when the real magic happens.
We train actors to own the room, trust their instincts, and break the mould.
SAC isn’t just another acting studio—it’s where fearless actors are made.
Actors are prone to mental health challenges from constant rejection, FOMO, lack of work, income, agents, to submissions, imbd, networking, dry spells, injustice, the list is endless. SAC believes that TRAINING SHOULD NOT BE STRESSFUL. Training should be a place to make mistakes, have fun, try something new and most of all TRAINING SHOULD FEEL SAFE. We have heard too many stories of actors being shamed or judged or treated disrespectfully. At SAC we love all our actors and treat each actor like a precious artistic soul that's only purpose is to grow as an artist.
We know the pain and struggle all too well. We will look after you
